6/10/2016 (Permalink)

The Rocklin Chamber is pleased to honor the graduates of this year’s Leadership Rocklin class. This is one of the Chamber’s premier programs, Leadership Rocklin provides individuals and future community leaders with the opportunity to learn in-depth what makes Rocklin such and exceptional city. The program is recognized by businesses, employers and decision-makers as an important part of a leader’s preparation to serve in our community. At a breakfast, in their honor, the graduating members of this year’s leadership program shared what they have gained from participation.

Among the graduates is our very own Ruth Griffith, owner of SERVPRO of Auburn/Rocklin. She has been truly moved by her participation and can be quoted as saying “I highly recommend the Leadership Rocklin Class. Learning about our community and meeting the leaders who help make Rocklin a great place to live has inspired me to be more involved in our community.”

Enrollment is now open for 2016-2017 Leadership Rocklin, which begins in September. Those interested in participating should contact the Chamber as soon as possible. Ruth is honored to be joining the steering committee for the upcoming class. Ask now for more information.

Something Social This Way Comes!

"First and foremost, 'THANK YOU!' and 'GREAT JOB!' goes out to the April Education Seminar presenter Ruth Griffith, of SERVPRO of Auburn/Rocklin."

"Ruth addressed the difficult subject of mold in the insurance industry and educated the group on its origins, removal, remediation, and possible prevention. In fact, Ruth's presentation was so mesmerizing, several attendees actually drank an organic cleaner and claimed it tasted like pizza! Thank you again to Ruth and to all the SCA folks in attendance."

We Attended The Hooked On Fishing Event

5/9/2016 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Auburn/Rocklin had the opportunity to attend a wonderful event to help local under privileged children. Owners Ruth Griffith and Dan Allen were among the volunteers at the Hooked On Fishing event. Ruth and Dan helped to show the children how to bait a hook, cast the line and bring in the fish. They spent the morning and afternoon talking and working with the children. They enjoyed lunch together that was all donated. The event took place at a wonderful location, Ride-to-Walk in Lincoln, CA, which is an organization that works with children and young adults with disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding activities. Participating in local events like this one is what owners of SERVPRO of Auburn/Rocklin Ruth and Dan really look forward to. They love to volunteer for their community and be involved in helping to shape the future leaders from our area.

SERVPRO Partners With The American Red Cross

4/12/2016 (Permalink)

SERVPRO® began a two-year national partnership with the American Red Cross in March of 2013 as the largest corporate sponsor for their Ready Rating™ Program. In January of 2016, SERVPRO® renewed our commitment to the American Red Cross, but the strategy shifted from the Ready Rating™ Program to now focusing on their Home Fire Preparedness Campaign by supporting Disaster Responders. The Home Fire Preparedness Campaign aligns very well with SERVPRO®’s residential market, and is aimed at reducing home fire deaths and injuries across the country. Our support of Disaster Responders makes it possible for them to assist affected families with swift relief; providing trained volunteers, supplies, emergency response vehicles, and resources to transform community sites into shelters. We are proud to support the American Red Cross to ensure that families and communities are prepared for disasters – especially home fires. As a proud supporter, SERVPRO® of Auburn/Rocklin has the opportunity to get involved with local home fire canvassing and installation events while continuing to build awareness about steps families can take to be prepared in their own homes. SERVPRO®’s overall priority for the partnership has not changed. We have simply chosen to focus on a non-disaster partnership of preparedness in an effort to better align with our Brand’s residential fire focus.

LEADERSHIP ROCKLIN

Ruth Anne Griffith introducing Stephanie Ulmer, tour guide at WPWMA.

LEADERSHIP ROCKLIN
Our owner and president, Ruth Anne Griffith is participating in Leadership Rocklin class of 2015-2016.
The mission of Leadership Rocklin is to educate, develop and motivate emerging leaders to be involved and committed to the Rocklin Area. The Leadership Rocklin class encourages active community involvement in leadership positions.

It also gives participants the opportunity to meet local government, business and civic leaders. It is an excellent opportunity to get connected with leaders in the community and to develop leadership skills.

During the 9-month program, members will work together to solve a community problem and/or make positive changes in an area of their community. This group community project is an exercise in collaboration and leadership while members are working closely together toward a common goal.

As homework, four different civic meetings must be attended and a written summary turned in with what was learned from attending these meetings.

On November 19th, Ruth attended the Regional Issues/Economic Development at the Board Chambers in Auburn, CA. Afterward; they toured the West Placer Waste Management Authority, where Ruth introduced the tour leader, Stephanie Ulmer. They toured the recycling sorting area, as well as the rest of the facility. From there, they toured Thunder Valley and met with Dawn Clayton who is the GM, and Gabor Eller, VP of Food and Beverage. After being treated to a wonderful lunch and tour, the leadership group toured Oracle. It was an informative and impactful experience.

Rocklin Chamber of Commerce Mixer

Ruth Griffith, Dan Allen, and our Red Cross Representatives

SERVPRO of Auburn/Rocklin hosted the Chamber of Commerce Mixer October 21st.  This well-attended event was not just to mingle with others in the business community, although we enjoyed the company of many local business owners. It was also for worthy cause.

SERVPRO invited our local representatives from the American Red Cross to discuss the Ready Rating Program and to raise money for our local chapter. We offered to match up to $500 in donations that evening.

Since it was so late in the month, we decided to have a Halloween themed event. Decorations reflecting the season were abundant as well as costumes by a few brave souls. The food was plentiful as well as the libations.

All -in-all, it was a fun evening.
